Four canadian teams take home first annual $1 Million Arctic Inspiration Prize

Vancouver, BC – The first annual $1M Arctic Inspiration Prize has been awarded and will be shared amongst four Canadian teams whose projects address pressing issues facing Canada’s Arctic and its Peoples. The Arctic Food Network, the Nunavut Literacy Council, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit and the Thaidene Nene Initiative, were awarded the honour at the 8th ArcticNet Annual Scientific Meeting in Vancouver tonight.

Canadian Teams Compete for Annual Million Dollar Arctic Inspiration Prize at Upcoming Scientific Meeting

Vancouver B.C. (November, 26 2012) – Rapid changes in climate, environment, culture, technology and the economy are bringing both challenges and opportunities for Canada’s Arctic and its peoples. A couple from Vancouver, Canada, has founded a $1 million annual prize that will enable multi-disciplinary teams to implement action plans that address the area’s most pressing issues.

New $1 Million Arctic Inspiration Prize Launched

Montreal, Quebec, 23 April 2012 – The new $1 million CAD Arctic Inspiration Prize was launched today at the International Polar Year 2012 conference. The Prize will be awarded annually to recognize and promote the extraordinary contribution made by teams in the gathering of Arctic knowledge and their plans to implement this knowledge into real world applications for the benefit of the Canadian Arctic, its Peoples and therefore Canada as a whole.
